Founded in 1985 as the Büsnau Bats, the football team underwent an exciting development: In 1992, they were renamed the Stuttgart Bats, before merging in 1997 to become the Stuttgart Silver Arrows. Before their impressive ascent to the Regional League, the Bats achieved a flawless season – a Perfect Season – in the Oberliga. Between 1991 and 1995, the team held its own in the Regional League. After a brief interlude in the Oberliga in 1996, they triumphantly returned to the Regional League in 1997.

A prominent figure of the team was Olaf Zimmermann, who was not only active for decades in various team constellations but also passionately carried the oval across the field for the Baden-Württemberg All Stars.

The characteristic orange coloring of the Bats was at the time an unusual and striking accent in the German football scene. Another highlight was the cheerleaders, known as “Great Orange Fire.” They achieved great success in championships, enjoyed nationwide recognition, and even graced the cover of the renowned American Football weekly newspaper “Huddle.”
