The very special team was founded in 1986 by "Boddle" Michael "Bomber" Schellberg, among others. He was a board member, coach, player, and party organizer all in one person.

The name, rather unusual for an American Football team, comes from the "Red Hole" bar, which was a notorious meeting place not only for the US soldiers stationed there in the Cooke Barracks in Stauferpark. Even today, football fans speak of the "RHB," the Red Hole Bombers. In addition to Boodle, the nicknames of other players such as "Porno," "Killer," and "Dex" are also mentioned

Between then and 1993, the team played against the Fellbach Sioux and Stuttgart Scorpions, among others, but no major sporting achievements are recorded in the chronicles. However, the team's parties were legendary, and even regular meetings in the clubhouse often ended differently than planned. Those who were there – and can still remember – can't stop raving about them. The Red Hole Bombers also caused a stir with their professionally equipped party bus, which they used to travel to their games. This bus was then also rented out to other clubs and city festivals and was always a popular meeting point thanks to the music and wide selection of drinks.

The heart and maker of the team was the aforementioned "Boddle" Michael Schellberg, a true jack-of-all-trades who was and is active and successful in many fields.
